X Startup Customization

The command xinit, used to startup an X session, initially attempts to read a file called .xinitrc in the user's home directory, and if successful, the contents of this file are used to override the default X startup. Figure 12 shows the contents of a sample .xinitrc file, and figure 13 shows the startup screen it produces.
